PATHSIM - Contact Tracing via Cell Phone LTE data

Pathsim is a novel contact tracing method that uses cellphone log data to compare users’ paths while preserving users’ privacy. Pathsim is based on proximity detection rather than localization and requires no user involvement required, therefore making it easy to deploy

Working with several other colleagues and Professor Avishek Mukherjee to further his work (VECSIM), we were tasked to develop several path generating algorithms that would be realistic and reduce the error and discontinuity pairs found in VECSIM. We were successful at creating an A* search algorithm in MATLAB that tested the log data several times with over 1000 data points.
